Wow! Seems you can get everything on Ebay these days!

I have a beautiful car that has served me well since 1998, when it was nearly new. Because it was a terrific car when I bought it, BMW German engineered, I noticed the difference in the road handling as soon as I started to drive it from the Mitsubishi wagon, I’d been driving for years before it. Now, to be fair to Mitsubishi, that car is still going strong as my mother’s faithful transport, but the convertible BMW has been what I like to call a ‘lifestyle’ car.

Sadly, the last year, I haven’t had a garage to keep it in, and it has started to show signs of wear and tear. The leather seat has a hole where I’m a little shorter than the male driver they probably designed it for and the belt has worn right through the buttery soft leather.  The convertible top is getting a bit cantankerous and I’m not always sure that putting it down is going to be such a good idea!

But the car still drives like a dream, and tonight when researching niches for websites to build, I came across something that surprised me!  It seems you can get just about anything these days on eBay. I found that I could buy brand new replacement leather seats for my car on eBay!!  Not tacky faux leather, or the sheepskins you can get in the auto stores, but the lovely fitted ones that make a luxury car look and feel like a luxury car.

My son didn’t want to watch what was on TV tonight, so having had enough of the ads, he bought an entire 6 series set of his favourite show, NCIS tonight on eBay! So we’ll be having an NCIS Fest around here, and it was quite a bargain. (Check out a nifty little tool called eBay Auction Sniper, available for the Firefox browser.)

Before you buy things on impulse, check out what’s available on the internet these days, it’s really quite amazing what you can get ‘direct’. Now I just have to figure out who installs those lovely leather seat covers so they look all factory fitted!!  Oh, and then find someone to smooth that little dent out of the back from the other night…..

Don’t blow your dough on new cars, work it out – sometimes it’s cheaper to rent a car when you need them in the cities these days than to own one with all the taxes and road costs.

To your happiness and shopping success!
